Auditions

Auditions will be at KNAC 315 W. Michigan Ave Kalamazoo, MI September 10 & 11 @ 7 pm

 

Synopsis:

Phillip Froelich is in trouble. The year is 1946, and he’s traveling to Seattle where he is facing a court martial for insubordination brought by an inept Senior Officer in the closing days of World War II. On the way to Seattle he meets Tim Danelaw, and soon the court martial is among the least of

Phillip’s concerns....

 

Show dates in Kalamazoo, MI are in March 2024 with rehearsals starting in January 2024. Directed by Lisa Marie Parker, stage managed by Jan Watson and produced by Laura Kay Henderson.

 

Auditions and rehearsals will take place at KNAC 315 W. Michigan Ave in Kalamazoo, MI. Auditions are 7-9 pm Sunday and Monday September 10 & 11, 2023. To obtain sides or script copies in advance please email theknockabout@yahoo.com.

 

The show calls for five men and five women.

CHARACTERS:

FRANCHON FROELICH CULLY:

Sister to PHILLIP. In the beginning of the play, she is in her seventies. For the storyline she is in her late 20’s

ENSIGN PHILLIP EUGENE DEVEREAUX FROELICH: Brother to FRANCHON. Early 20’s

VICTORIA FROELICH. the family Matriarch. 50s

LIEUTENANT FRANCIS BARRIMAN:

Cousin to PHILLIP. Mid to upper 20’s

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER TIM DANELAW:Husband to PAT. 30’s

LIEUTENANT COMMANDER LEE BRUNNER:

An officer and friend to TIM. Mid 30’s

BOATSWAIN STUFF MANUS:

One of PHILLIP’s shipmates. Late 20’s

SYBEL JO VOTH: PHILLIP’s fiancé. 19

MADAME VOTH: SYBEL JO’s mother. An extravagant woman. Late 40’s

PAT DANELAW:

TIM’s wife. Early 30’s

 

SETTING:

The time is the end of World War II. Act I takes place in

numerous locales around Seattle, WA. Act II takes place in

numerous locales around Devereaux, OK.
